It’s not Christmas without the excitement of a pantomime. A fun-filled music number can transform any Grinch into a fan of the festive season. Here’s a list of ten unmissable pantomimes coming to Manchester this year – some for all the family and some just for the grown-ups!
ComedySportz team are bringing something refreshing and unique to the Pantomime scene this December: a completely unscripted show just for adults. Oh no it isn’t! Oh yes it is! Coming to Fierce Bar on Wed 13 Dec (7:30pm-8:40pm) and Waterside in Sale on Fri 15 and Fri 16 December, tickets start at £5.
From Fri 8 December to Sun 7 Jan, the spectacular Peter Pan is flying to the stage at the Plaza in Stockport. With Coronation Street’s Brian Capron as Captain Hook, the whole family is invited along. Tickets start at £17.60.
The heartwarming story of Buddy the Elf hits the AO Arena for three performances this December (Sat 23 and Sun 24). Following four sell-out tours, Elf: The Musical Arena Spectacular is the perfect Christmas treat. Tickets range from £27 to £55.15 and with only three shows, they are likely to sell out fast. A mobile stage travels the auditorium and an audience snowball fight immerses everyone in the action.
Pados Studio Theatre brings Rapunzel to the stage from Thu 30 Nov to Sat 9 Dec, with prices between £10 and £12. This beloved tale promises suspense, revenge and jealousy. Will Rapunzel manage to escape?
Charming productions bring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to The Forum Theatre after their sell-out production of Rapunzel last year. Promising amazing costumes, spectacular dancers and much-loved pantomime characters, this panto aims to get the whole family into the festive spirit. Tickets are £10-£18 and the show runs from Sun 10 Dec – Fri 29 Dec.
Cinderella hits the Contact Theatre this December (Sat 9 – Sun 31). The team that brought the acclaimed Robin Hood: The 80s Panto to Manchester last winter (Eight-freestyle) team up with Contact Young Company to present a girl power version of Cinderella.

Running throughout December, the family-favourite panto Jack and the Beanstalk is back at the Opera House with comedian Jason Manford as Jack. This production guarantees bag-fulls of fun (and magic beans!). Tickets for the annual festive panto are on sale now – available from £13.
