It’s just a few more weeks until Christmas and I’m sure we’re all feeling the pinch with all the Christmas market mania, present-purchasing chaos and stocking up enough booze to last a month.
Not to worry, however, as there is still a handful of cracking things you can do around the city that won’t hurt your wallet too much.
From a vintage lover’s paradise on Ducie Street all the way through to a killer afro-beats night at Ramona – we have most definitely got you sorted for the best free things to do around the city.
Swing by Stockport this Thursday evening for the Precious Little exhibition over at the Mura Ma Art Space.
The event will feature the rich and varied breadth of painting taking place in northern England with the work of 14 northern contemporary painters on display for its final exhibition of the year.
Rock up to soak in some of the local art scene, check out some interesting displays and explore this wonderful little venue nestled in the heart of Stocky P.
Put on your dancing shoes and kick off the weekend in style over at Ramona to catch the likes of Lo5ive, Ynigo ZJ (UK) spin a delightfully eclectic mix of sounds.
Whether you’re a hip-hop head, an R&B enthusiast, an afro-beats aficianodo or a UK funky house fanatic – the Kultura Collective are sure to hook you up with the best club music from around the globe.
Venture out into Longsight this Friday for a short and sweet unique collaborative event all about testing the limits of communal resource sharing.
The event sees artist duo Darren Nixon and Rowland Hill invite audiences to become a collaborator in a mass act of communal resource-sharing to enable everyone present to experience a large body of moving image works simultaneously.
Also featured will be several live performance adaptions of the video works on display with music and drinks to wash it all down.
Fancy a slightly more wholesome Saturday afternoon plan? Look no further than the buzzing Rare Finds Flea Market down at Ducie Street’s home of the frozen daiquiri, Diecast.
Dedicated to rehoming second-hand & homemade items, furniture and fashion – this is a great opportunity to have a little browse at the city’s pre-loved offerings and a perfect place to pick up some thrifty Crimbo gifts.
