The MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2024 has announced that their 2024 restaurant selection will be officially unveiled at Manchester’s iconic Midland Hotel on Mon 5 Feb, adding another noteworthy feather into the city’s culinary cap and sparking speculation that more local additions to the country’s pre-eminent dining guide are imminent.
Officially confirmed earlier today, the ceremony will celebrate the extraordinary work of chefs around the country with a televised unveiling of this year’s restaurants at the home of Adam Reid at The French, one of Manchester’s most esteemed gastronomic establishments which has been eagerly tipped for a MICHELIN Star in recent years.
Alongside the exclusive cohort of MICHELIN Star-winners, the ceremony will also recognise pioneers in the field of sustainable gastronomy with a series of Green Star awards, as well as a selection of Special Awards for industry professionals.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The MICHELIN Guides, said: “We are honoured to be bringing our celebration of the finest British and Irish gastronomy to the welcoming and ever-evolving city of Manchester. The historic Midland Hotel – a long-standing jewel in the city’s architectural crown – is a venue befitting of the occasion.
“The MICHELIN Guide team are busy preparing an event that will do justice to the exceptional skill, dedication and hard work found across our industry.”
The MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2024 launch ceremony will be broadcast live via the MICHELIN Guide YouTube channel, allowing viewers to tune in and find out which Mancunian restaurants will join the likes of Higher Ground, The Sparrows, 63 Degrees, Another Hand and more in next year’s MICHELIN Guide, or which celebrated local spot could finally sit alongside Simon Martin’s mana with another MICHELIN Star.
