Presented by the Community Chorus, an open access choir that welcomes adults of all backgrounds and abilities, the RNCM’s first ever Community Opera production delivers an epic, uplifting musical adventure inspired by this year’s environment-focused programme theme, The Future is Green.
Packed with shocking twists, triumphant spirit and timeless operatic wonder, the brand new show is co-written with the Chorus and composer and conductor Kate Pearson and welcomes celebrated director Jonathan Ainscough. It follows a tight-knit community who unite to fight back against corporate greed when their beloved local green space comes under threat from craven property developers.
Promising to entertain and galvanise in equal measure, Silverwood explores the highs and lows of defending our natural lands and communal spaces, as soaring melodies and spellbinding scenes combine to celebrate the importance of solidarity to preserving our world.
