Preview season in full swing this week as Christy Coysh, Huge Davies, Stuart Laws, Amy Gledhill and Chris Cantrill are all in town.

Huge Davies & Stuart Laws at XS Malarkey | Tue 25 Jun | 7.30pm | £6/3

If you’re looking to avoid the football this Tuesday night then we highly recommend heading to 53Two for yet another excellent double bill at XS Malarkey. Huge Davies provides the deadpan pop bangers and Yamaha keyboard strapped to his chest, while Stuart Laws brings whimsical, intricate storytelling with a gillet no doubt on his person. Two finer performers you’ll struggle to find on a Tuesday night and a damn sight more entertaining than England vs Slovenia.

Christy Coysh at Fairfield Social Club | Sat 29 Jun | 2.30pm | £8

Another musical comic this week as TikTok sensation (and Wakefield Rear of the Year) Christy Coysh comes to Fairfield Social Club with his low energy, high(ish) production parody songs that have run wild online, that he’s now looking to bring to a live audience. Coysh’s stock in trade is pairing the mundane with a 90s/00s pop classic and his lyricism is worthy of some of the greats of musical parody. It’ll be exciting to see what he does live.

Amy Gledhill & Chris Cantrill at The Laughienda | Sun 30 Jun | 7.30pm | £8

A Delightful Sausage reunion of sorts at Laughienda this Sunday as Amy Gledhill and Chris Cantrill showcase their new solo works to end your week with some big laughs. Cantrill’s Easily Swayed looks at maintaining middle-aged friendship groups whilst also wearing a medieval cape, whereas Gledhill presents her special brand of non-more-honest storytelling, mainly based upon the moments where she has horrendously embarrassed herself. Two phenomenal shows.
