Museum of Illusions is set to open its first UK location here in Manchester.

The new attraction, which is set to open on Market Street, promises a captivating experience for visitors of all ages, immersing them in a world of optical illusions and interactive exhibits.

Alongside the museum’s signature exhibits, such as the Walk-in Kaleidoscope, Vortex Tunnel, and Infinity Room, the latest opening will feature custom-made installations that celebrate Manchester’s unique culture and heritage.

These include The Reversed Room — a Manchester tram illusion where guests appear to hang upside down from a Metrolink tram, The Following Eyes Illusion — where a famous Manchester persona can’t get their eyes off of guests, and The Building Illusion — in which visitors can appear to hang from an iconic Manchester landmark.

The Museum will also include some never-before-seen installations that will make their world debut in Manchester.

Steven Buchan, General Manager at Museum of Illusions, commented: “We are delighted to have  Manchester chosen as the first UK location for the Museum of Illusions, as it’s known for its vibrant cultural scene, rich history, and reputation as a hub for innovation and creativity.

“Market Street, with its bustling atmosphere and central location, perfectly complements our mission to make interactive, educational experiences accessible to everyone. The Manchester location will offer a unique experience that blends our globally recognized exhibits with specially curated installations inspired by the city’s iconic landmarks and cultural heritage, making it distinct from our other locations around the world.”

Beyond the installations, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the science behind the optical illusions.

Museum of Illusions will open in Manchester on Fri 27 Sep. Ticket prices start at £17.50, walk-ins are welcome though advanced booking is recommended. You can find more information here.
