Billed as a defiant journey of self-actualisation which unfolds along the thin, shifting line between dream and reality, Ivan Michael Blackstock’s Olivier Award-winning TRAPLORD has arrived at Aviva Studios.

Fusing dance, live music and spoken word, the surreal and powerful production muses on life, death and rebirth, weaving between dream and reality.

Speaking about the production’s Manchester run, Blackstock said: “I am incredibly excited to bring TRAPLORD to Manchester at Aviva Studios this September. Sharing this personal and powerful journey of self-actualisation, mental health, and masculinity with the vibrant community here means a lot to me.

“I hope the show resonates and makes a meaningful impact, as we collectively explore and celebrate this shared story.”

TRAPLORD is at Aviva Studios until Sun 29 Sep. On Fri 27 Sep, there will be a post-show talk with Ivan Michael Blackstock – interviewed by Roy Alexander Weise – in the Social from 9pm –10pm, which is free and open to all.

On Sunday, Aviva welcomes Manchester dance company Shockout who will be delivering an immersive performance inspired by TRAPLORD in the social. Young dancers from the group have taken part in a week-long workshop and rehearsal process led by Anthony Ekundayo Lennon, Theatre Director and Co-Dramaturg on TRAPLORD.

Tickets for the remaining performances are extremely limited. Click the button below to grab one of the final few.
