Eshaan Akbar headlines A Lovely Time, Steve Bugeja is at XS Malarkey and Nina Gilligan is just one of the great shows at this year’s Women In Comedy Festival.
Eshaan Akbar is set to headline the return of irregular comedy night A Lovely Time as Josh Jones takes over hosting duties from Amy Gledhill. Taking place at Fairfield Social Club with ticket just a tenner, prices may be low for a Friday night show but the standard is very high with the likes of Molly McGuinness and Hannah Platt rounding out the impressive lineup.
The Women In Comedy Festival returns this week and there’s a host of excellent shows in store for the city (take a look here). The pick of the bunch for the first week of shows is award-winning Nina Gilligan and her latest show ‘Goldfish’. Labelled one of the 12 must-see shows by Rolling Stone at this year’s Fringe Gilligan takes on memory loss, health anxiety and goldfish related trauma. One of the funniest comedians around.

XS Malarkey celebrated a landmark 27th birthday last week but there’ll be no resting on their laurels as they go again with another staggering lineup of old pros and new hotness. BBC New Comedy Award winner Steve Bugeja headlines and Jonathan Lloyd, Laurence Tuck and sketch duo The Lovely Boys make up the rest of an excellent lineup on a Tuesday night, all lovingly held together by Toby Hadoke.
