Joe Kent-Walter’s award-winning alter-ego Frankie Monroe is taking to the clubs next year for a debut UK tour of which the Manchester date sold out a while ago. So if you want to see the owner of Rotherham’s finest working men’s club/portal to hell then pop down for this pub quiz in a shed. Anarchic as ever, Frankie also invites some of his comedy pals down to do a turn. Not your average pub quiz.
Pierre Novellie is possibly best known for his appearances on Frank Skinner’s radio show or perhaps his co-hosting of the Bud Pod with fellow comic Phil Wang. Earlier this year he published his first book touching on his autism diagnosis called Why Can’t I Just Enjoy Things? for which this tour (entitled Why Are You Laughing?) is a companion piece.
Widely regarded as some of the finest and most accessible writing about autism alongside Fern Brady’s Strong Female Character, this will be Novellie’s most personal show yet but still absolutely hilarious delivered in a non-more deadpan style. The first show sold out so grab tickets for this 5pm show and revel in the early evening laughs.

Aussie comic Laura Davis was so exhausted from another stint in Edinburgh for the Fringe that they decided to move there to avoid the rigorous back and forth. Australia’s loss is our gain as Davis is one of the finest comic storytellers of our time. Never lacking gusto and a heartfelt punchline, Davis is terrific value, and with XS Malarkey’s already staggeringly good value-for-money pricing that means a whole lot more. Don’t miss it.
