To help you save some dosh after splashing the cash on presents, roasts and imminent Christmas parties, we’ve rounded up five of the best free things to do in Manchester this week…
Swing by Northern Quarter this Thursday to catch BLEEP, a space where electronic musicians can practise their live performance skills with an open-minded and inclusive audience. A great mid-week night out to throw your support behind.
Kick the weekend off over at Band on the Wall’s Copper Bar to see singer and songwriter Sahala join forces with Trees.R.Good [DJ] to bring a selection of tunes that shaped their childhood, cultural background and musical inspirations.
La Fiesta, a free-to-dance global music night featuring Afrobeat, Reggae, Latin, and Jazz with a live band is all about feel-good music and overwhelmingly positive vibes.
Head to Ducie Street Warehouse this Saturday evening to kick off the weekend with a bang. The venue’s resident DJs, Emelie B and Nony B promise to bring all the best electrifying beats that will have you grooving all night long.
End the week in wholesome style over at Platt Field’s Market Garden where you can have a rummage at their monthly secondhand vintage market run by Andy Shake’N’Fingerpop.
A perfect chance to pick up some bits for friends and family ahead of Christmas, guests can explore a wide range of second-hand and vintage goods all in the lovely setting of the Fallowfield community garden.

There’s still time to catch Susan Gunn’s Ground Evolution, a triptych made from earth, granite and concrete collected from the disturbed ground, at Factory International’s Aviva Studios.
Gunn transforms earth excavated from Aviva’s building site into a dust resembling pigment using a mechanical process, before returning it to the site where it all began as a lasting monument to the changing faces of the creative industry in Manchester.
