Manchester School of Theatre presents A Christmas Carol in stunning season finale

The Grosvenor East theatre at Manchester Metropolitan University is gearing up for its end-of-year finale as the BA Acting Autumn season comes to a close with A Christmas Carol

Kicking off its run on Thu 5 Dec, the timeless Charles Dickens classic has become one of the most famous stories ever told and the perfect family-friendly festive experience.

The story sees one of the most famous literary characters of all time, Ebenezer Scrooge, endure a transformative evening in which he is visited by three spirits.

As Scrooge, an elderly miser, is exposed to faded memories of his past, the brutal realities of his present and the impending possibilities, he finds a renewed sense of kindness and festive spirit just in time for Christmas day.

A heart-warming story of emotional metamorphosis and reconciliation, the show is a spell-binding tale of greed, grief, and isolation but, above all, the spirit of Christmas.

In this Adam Zane adaptation, the show takes place in an empty theatre on Christmas Eve as a series of dramatic events alter the outlook of Scrooge and perhaps the audience, too.

Taking place across four shows from Thu 5 Dec – Sat 7 Dec at the Grosvenor East Theatre, this show follows two successful productions of the artistic drama pool (no water) and the cringeworthy comedy A Respectable Wedding from earlier this Autumn.
