Next week, the Science and Industry Museum hosts an exclusive sneak preview of the first of this year’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES from the Royal Institution.

Streamed live from the historic Royal Institution theatre ahead of its broadcast on the BBC later in December, Dr Chris van Tulleken will bring science to life through live demos, guest appearances and festive food hacks to reveal how our eating affects our bodies and brains.

Audiences will be invited to chew over startling facts about how modern food is made, how we eat with our eyes and how smell and even sound can affect the taste of our food.

Happening on Tue 10 Dec, the special event offers the unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the lecture is filmed for TV. These recordings have been screened at the Science and Industry Museum since 2018, ensuring audiences outside of London have access to the live event, giving an exclusive glimpse of the making of such a prestigious programme.

Dr Chris is one-third of the Operation Ouch! presenting trio who were featured in the Science and Industry’s hit exhibition Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You. The museum also recently announced details of its upcoming new major exhibition and much-anticipated follow-up, Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You

The CHRISTMAS LECTURES screening will begin at 6pm, and visitors are asked to arrive prior. The museum’s cafe will be serving food, refreshments and festive treats from 5pm.
