The National Theatre’s Olivier Award-winning football-inspired hit Dear England comes to Lowry this spring.

Following a record-breaking run in the West End, the critically acclaimed play delves into the highs and perhaps more frequent lows of English football through the lens of Gareth Southgate’s transformative leadership.

From multi award-winning writer James Graham (Sherwood, BBC), and directed by Rupert Goold (Patriots, Best of Enemies), Dear England captures the emotional journey of the England men’s team as they try to redefine success, resilience and pressure both on and off the pitch.

Gwilym Lee (Bohemian RhapsodySAS Rogue Heroes) plays Gareth Southgate in this epic examination of both the nation and the game. He is joined by a stellar cast, including Liz White (Life on Mars; Unforgotten) who plays sports psychologist Pippa Grange.

The cast also includes returning performers Josh Barrow as Jordan Pickford, Gunnar Cauthery as Gary Lineker, Tony Turner as Greg Dyke, John Hodgkinson as Greg Clarke, and Ryan Whittle who is taking on a new role as Harry Kane.

They’re joined by new cast members Matt Bardock as Mike Webster, Jude Carmichael as Marcus Rashford, Gamba Cole as Raheem Sterling, Ryan Donaldson as Harry Maguire, Felixe Forde as Alex Scott, Kadell Herida as Jaden Sancho, Joshua Hill as Jordan Henderson, Tom Lane as Eric Dier, Martin Marquez as Sam Allardyce, Tane Siah as Bukayo Saka, and Tristan Waterson as Dele Alli.

Hailed as a ‘new stage epic’ in The Telegraph’s five-star review, Dear England comes to Lowry from Thu 29 May – Sun 29 Jun. Tickets are on sale now, grab yours using the button below.
