Castlefield is one of Manchester’s most historic and intriguing districts, boasting a Roman fort and exuding canalside charm whilst trains roll into the city above your head. To make use of such a space, Castlefield Forum are joining forces with Community Games and local businesses to offer a day of fun in and around the Castlefield Basin. Expect live music, zumba, treasure hunts, raffles and tombolas, fairground games, Roman tours, an Edwardian picture booth with free photographs and a kids’ sports day. The weekly Castlefield artisan market will be providing an eclectic mix of food, drink, vintage and craft stalls throughout the day, and everyone’s favourite Greek restaurant, Dimitri’s, will also be offering some munch. The event runs well into the evening, when punters will then be invited to round off the day with a quiz at The Oxnoble.
