The last few years have seen the once downtrodden Chapel Street undergo an impressive makeover, with the strip now boasting some of the city’s best food and drink spots.

From mouthwatering tapas at Porta, Italian delights at Vero Moderno to picture-perfect Guinness at The New Oxford—it’s been an unlikely but welcome revival.

The latest addition, set to join in 2022, will be a craft beer shop and taproom, going by the name Joule.

It’s been inspired by Salford-born physicist and keen brewer, James Prescott Joule, who carried out experiments in his own brewery, which led to the invention of the thermometer.

The new shop will open on the ground floor of The Filaments development on Chapel Street. Keep up to date with the latest developments ahead of next year’s opening on the Joule website.
