A brand-new entertainment concept is due to bring the feel of a drive-in movie to the world of theatre. Making its world debut right here in Manchester, Drive Inside is a giant, mobile, open-sided tent which features a 90-foot-wide stage. Attendees can park up and watch theatre productions from a socially distanced viewing area beside their car and the venue, which has an audience capacity of 800, is fully licensed and comes complete with catering facilities. This new idea is the brainchild of Beyond Theatre, a company known for putting on musicals in unusual places. Earlier this year, they were all set to go ahead with a new play but when the lockdown was announced, they launched this new venture instead. The auditorium is available for hire but at the time of writing there’s no indication that any new plays are pending so, if you know any plucky thespians who are raring to put on a show, tell them to click the link below. There are plans to take Drive Inside to London and Edinburgh, so let’s make it a success here first. Looking for more theatre?
