Manchester has been chosen to host one of several official free Olympic fan zones which are to be spread around the UK.
Team GB announced it would be hosting ten free-to-enter zones from the opening ceremony on Fri 26 Jul to the closing ceremony on Sun 11 Aug.
Manchester’s fan zone will be hosted in Spinningfields by The Lawn Club, with guests invited to enjoy all the action from Paris on a huge 13ft outdoor screen.
There will also be screens within the venue’s covered restaurant and bar area, The Pergola, so fans can head down rain or shine.
Team GB has also said there will be appearances from past Olympians, Q&As and medal celebrations with Team GB’s returning athletes at the UK fan zones, so stay tuned for more information on all of that.
Prior to the Olympics, The Lawn Club will also be showing all of England’s matches at the Euros. These events will be ticketed, and form part of the venue’s huge upcoming summer of sport, which also includes screenings of Wimbledon, the Grand Prix, and the US Open.
