Attention caffeine addicts! There’s a brand new spot to add to your list of hot-drink haunts as Grapefruit Cafe, a new venture from the folks behind record, zine and live show outfit Comfortable On A Tightrope, opens its doors in Sale. Following 15 years working in some of the city’s finest brew houses, founders Laetitia Glenton and R. L. Perry have gathered together a group of their most talented friends to put their shared experiences to good use by creating a brand new neighbourhood coffee house. Baker Amy Elkin will be on hand to serve up a selection of tasty treats while the venue itself promises to be decked out with next-level craftsmanship from Khes Hussain and Dave Bailey, the latter of which provided Grapefruit’s hand-painted sign. Further bespoke touches come via Alice Merida Richards who provided the venue’s hand-made tiles and Jess Scot, who offered up hand-painted light shades, all of which add to the store’s homely, crafty feel. The team behind this new venture promise us a light, healthy food menu will be with us soon – but in the meantime they’re already serving up coffee from some of the UK’s premiere roasters and high quality baked goods from 7am – 4pm. What are you waiting for?
