To mark its tenth anniversary, Runaway Brewery is hosting its first-ever beer festival at its Stockport taproom this May.
Running from Thu 30 May – Sun 2 Jun, the birthday celebrations also mark one year since Runaway moved to its new home in the town.
The festivities begin on Thursday with a special preview of new beers brewed for the occasion. Runaway’s brewers will be on hand to present their new beers and show people around the brewery with impromptu tours, while the resident Honest Crust team have plans for some extra special pizzas.
This will be followed by a two-day beer festival showcasing Runaway’s greatest hits alongside world beers from Manchester craft beer specialists, Beermoth. Alongside Honest Crust, Runaway will be recruiting some extra foodie friends who’ll be serving up a range of internationally-inspired dishes with plenty of veggie and vegan options.
Music will be provided by friends of the brewery, with a rotating line-up of DJ’s playing folk, soul, funk, hip-hop, electronica, disco and dad rock in the courtyard on both days.
Sunday promises a more relaxing vibe — a few final celebratory beers and pizzas, board games and birthday cake.
Runaway Brewery’s founder, Mark Welsby says: “We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last ten years – both within the hospitality industry and of course the beer drinking community – we really wouldn’t still be here without them! We hope the festival goes some way to sharing our gratitude with everyone – and make for a memorable weekend with great friends and delicious beer of course!”
Entry to the festival on all days will be free, keep an eye on Runaway’s socials for concrete times and plans.
