Mancunian street food royalty, Grub, are teaming up with Manchester City Council to bring a new monthly food and drink festival to Wythenshawe.

Kicking off on Sat 23 Jul ‘GRUB Carnival – The Travelling Food  Festival’ will bring together the very best of GRUB’s all-time best food traders, along with pop-up brewery bars, take-home produce stalls and tonnes of live entertainment.

Along with a commitment to bringing the community together through the inclusive, family-friendly events, the new festival promises to create job opportunities and provide space for local creatives to share their work and talents.

The first set of traders to take over the sun-drenched space outside the former Wythenshawe indoor market will be Desert Island Dumplings, Rad Burger, Il Forno, The Neighbourhood Coop, Thief Street Grill & Waffle and The Chaat Walas.

Paradiso Authentic Italian & Marzipan MCR will be in charge of sweet treats and a mini take-home produce market will be filled to the brim with indie food and drink producers who are all as local as possible.

Visitors can expect pours from the likes of Vocation Brewery, Squawk, Rivington, Runaway and many more. There’ll also be an abundance of cocktails, mocktails, wines and soft drinks.

Just in case the Mancunian elements rear their questionable head, the GRUB carnival tent will provide shelter, while also boasting a stacked lineup of live entertainment, DJs and lawn games.

The School of GRUB scheme will also offer support to budding entrepreneurs through free-to-attend workshops with successful traders who will share their own real-life advice on how to get started in the business.
