With the release of new album The Woodwards II, The Woodwards bring their special brand of urban, folk noir to Chorlton. Great reviews in magazines such as Uncut have followed with lead singer Peter Schuyff being likened to a ‘pulpier, sunnier Lou Reed’ – a description that dovetails nicely with the fact that Schuyff was friends with Andy Warhol in his days as an artist living in the Chelsea Hotel in the 1980s. Combining blues, folk and Americana with pop, funk and urban music, The Woodwards are a band that demand to be seen live with dark and funny songs with a frontman who has seen it all.
