Global sportswear and street culture titan adidas has announced a long-term collaboration with Factory International as part of a groundbreaking commitment to foster the next generation of creative talent in Manchester, with a bespoke summer programme of events at Aviva Studios to celebrate the partnership.

In a statement of intent to nurture the city’s young creative scene for years to come, adidas and Factory International are set to launch the Creator Network North initiative, which will offer vital work placements and professional opportunities while equipping emerging artists with necessary skills and industry experience.

To kick off the partnership, the two organisations will deliver an unmissable programme packed with activations and events at Aviva Studios this summer, beginning with a major global skateboarding event featuring renowned skaters, influential creatives and networking opportunities for the local community on Sat 27 Jul.

Chris Walsh, Vice President of Brand adidas North Europe said: “adidas is thrilled to partner with Factory International, given its rich history in solidifying Manchester as a key destination for arts and culture. Through our Creator Network North program, we are committed to nurturing young creative talent in the city, providing them with valuable opportunities and experiences to thrive in the creative industries. This partnership, starting with an exciting summer program celebrating the Olympics and Paralympics, reflects our dedication to fostering innovation and creativity within the local community.

John McGrath, Artistic Director & Chief Executive, Factory International continued: “At Factory International we’re deeply committed to creating opportunities for young people – from supporting emerging artists to skilling up the creative workforce of the future. We’re delighted to be working in partnership with adidas to create a series of initiatives that bring together culture and sport to inspire and empower the next generation. We look forward to seeing the outcomes of this partnership over the next three years.”
