Afrobeat-influenced 11-piece Agbeko are set to launch their hotly anticipated debut record at Band on the Wall. Channelling the political sentiments of their beloved 1970s funk from Nigeria, Ethiopia and Ghana, the band’s lyrics articulated to spirit of counter-culture and social justice that never dies, whether on the streets or dancefloors. Combining congas, sogo, guitar, trumpet, trombone and three saxophones, their joyous cacophony of creativity is an irresistibly groovy live experience. They’ll be joined by fellow Manchester-based jazz Bethlehem Casuals, Lychee and DJs Stutter and Twitch.
