Alison Goldfrapp continues her new-found love affair with Manchester in October, as she launches a new exhibition, Performer as Curator, at The Lowry. Following on from her performances at the Albert Hall as part of Manchester International Festival, Goldfrapp has been asked to be the first performer to take over the galleries for this annual exhibition. It will feature her inspirations who have shaped her own artistic vision – including painters, film-makers, illustrators and photographers. Works by over 20 artists including Marcel Dzama, John Stezaker, Leonora Carrington, Jan Pienkowski and Lotte Reiniger are set to make up the exhibition, which explores themes of transformation, metamorphosis and identity that often recur within traditional fairy tales.
