How does a rural community’s dependence on the timber trade threaten the eco-system of one of the most bio-diverse areas on the planet? All Other Things Being Equal is the result of a three-year research project, led by University of Washington academic and photographer Dr Johan Oldekop, in the Ecuadorian rainforest. The exhibition features photography and audio documents alongside items from the museum’s collection that investigate the rainforest’s indigenous population’s dependence on logging in the face of an increased global desire for conservation and the complex issues it creates.
