Following its shock closure last month, the doors to Almost Famous’ Northern Quarter site will reopen later this month.

Citing financial pressures, the team announced it would be closing the doors to its Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds restaurants in January. However, D2, the team behind Liverpool’s PINS Social Club, have today confirmed they would take over the Northern Quarter and Liverpool sites.

D2’s new Managing Director Daniel Kelly, who was Operations Director at Almost Famous between 2018 and 2022, will head up both the Northern Quarter and Liverpool sites.

Speaking about the news, Kelly said “We’re buzzing to get Almost Famous back – hire as many of the old team as we can, get the grills on and the burgers flying out,

“I’ve been part of this brand and I know what it takes to maintain its bigger, better, and make-it-outrageous approach.

“We’re here to bring back the legendary AF experience – killer service, next-level food, and all the chaotic, messy, unforgettable vibes that made Almost Famous, well… Famous.”

Almost Famous’ Northern Quarter site could now reopen as soon as Fri 21 Feb. There have been no further developments in regards to the former Great Northern Warehouse site.

Following the chain’s closure, Almost Famous faced criticism from Unite Hospitality, with staff alleging unpaid wages and a lack of notice.
