Amen Dunes are set to visit Gorilla during an extensive tour of the US and Europe, on the road to support latest record ‘Freedom’, out now on Sacred Bones. Alias of singer-songwriter Damon McMahon, the new album has been described as his “euphoric breakthrough” by Pitchfork, a new chapter of his distinctive brand of psychedelic folk-rock, refined over three years. Building up a devoted following of fans since 2006, first album ‘D.I.A.’ is something of an underground classic, recorded by the young troubadour in an upstate New York trailer over the course of a month. ‘Freedom’ has seen McMahon enlist the help of Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Elias Bender Rønnenfelt of Iceage and saxophonist Colin Stetson, fleshing out his own sonic signature. Support comes from Brooklyn-based alt-rock musician Cut Worms, supporting debut album ‘Hollow Ground’, out now on Jagjaguwar.
