A twinkling enchanted forest is set to take over Deansgate Square from Thu 8 Dec.

The new Christmas installation features a 20ft Nordmann Fir towering above 250 real Christmas trees, fairy trails, snow projections, and tipis cascaded with Christmas lights.

Along with the festive decorations, visitors will be able to enjoy freshly-cooked pizzas. mulled cocktails and other treats from local traders.

Guests will be able to take their food and drink away into the forest’s wooden tipis and stretch tents. Getting involved in the festivities will be General Store, who’ll be serving up a selection of winter drinks and snacks, Atomeca, who’ll be whipping up delicious Irish Coffee, and Kitten, who be cooking up their usual favourites like Kentucky fried calamari and sushi slatters.

Nonna’s Pasta will also keep guests fuelled up with a takeaway food menu that includes mac and cheese with an array of festive toppings, as will Salvi’s, who will be offering a special Christmas menu that includes hot negronis and pasta e fagioli.

The Enchanted Forest, located on the riverside square at the Deansgate Square development, will open from 6.30pm on Thu 8 Dec for a two-week run. The installation will open between Wednesday to Friday, between 4pm-10pm, and on weekends between 12pm-10pm.

A wide range of festive activities are planned for children and adults alike, including ‘forest fairies and gonks hide and seek’, a decoration-making workshop and a lantern parade. For more information on upcoming events, visit the Deansgate Square website.
