L’antica Pizzeria Da Michele, largely considered to be one of the greatest pizzerias across the globe, has opened the doors to its brand new Manchester location.

Starting life in Naples more than a century ago, their pizzas have frequently been recognised as the best in the world.

Aside from the stellar culinary reputation, the restaurant was also immortalised after Julia Roberts visited in the film Eat, Pray, Love.

L’antica are best known for their no-nonsense Margherita and Marinara pizzas, though the menu has since developed to feature an array of other high-quality toppings.

There are already two restaurants open in London, though this marks the first in the UK outside of the capital, taking over the old Zizzi site within the Grade II-listed 53 King Street.
