Having released on the hugely influential label and home of Regis, Downwards Records, Ancient Methods bring their unique brand of ‘pitch black techno war funk’ to town this Friday in  what is surprisingly is their first ever performance in the city. With influences that recall the unrelenting sound of Surgeon as much as the spacial and melodic production of the Basic Channel school, Ancient Methods are a duo that while not necessarily grabbing the headlines, they are pushing the techno sound towards the future. Support comes from rising stars of UK techno, Manchester-based duo, AnD. Founders of the widely respected ISM label (along with Tom Dicicco) and having recently released on Hidden Hawaii, Black Sun and Frozen Border, AnD are widely regarded as one of the cornerstones this growing genre.
