Local performance arts company The Circus House, is heading to Z-arts in Hulme later this month for a new show that’s suitable for all ages. Anna of the Jungle is a reimagining of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic tale, Tarzan. It centres on a young girl who is shipwrecked on a remote island. She is captured by a friendly but mischievous monkey family – who, with the help of their friends, show her how to love the jungle and all its wild and wonderful creatures. A promenade piece, it lets audience members be part of the show. They can join Anna on her journey, as they are swept around the theatre, travelling with her under, over, and amongst the other performers. Made up of seasoned professionals and Circus House community members, the cast includes aerial artists, acrobats, jugglers, and unicyclists.
