Regular club at Night and Day Café, Antics is expanding this weekend with two nights of new bands and DJs. Friday night features a performance by Then Thickens, an indie-pop band who have been championed by BBC 6Music and Drowned in Sound. Also appearing will be hot topics including Shinies, Flesh, and Lofft. Saturday sees a performance by fifties-inspired garage rockers Bromheads, along with: LVLS, Twisted Dolls, and Championlover. The big idea is to preview some of the alternative acts heading to Beacons Festival (Fri 7- Sun 10 Aug, www.greetingsfrombeacons.com).
Fri 1 – Sat 2 Aug, Night & Day Café, 26 Oldham St, Manchester, M1 1JN, 8pm – 3am, £9 (weekend ticket), www.nightnday.org
