Archive returns to Q Cavern this Friday with a Bristol-centric night of esoteric electronica. Of particular interest is Acre, a producer whose sound falls somewhere between the schools of techno, ambient electronica and drone, with reference of the 2-step and UKG drum patterns that provide a great reminder of just how great the ‘Ghost’ releases were at the turn of the century. The use of field recordings, especially in Aperture in Opticks release shows just how strong a producer and sound artist Acre is. A chance to explore of the relationships between organic recordings and contemporary electronic production.
