This summer Paradise Works presents Buffer Zones, a new group exhibition featuring work from critically acclaimed contemporary artists selected by Division of Labour’s Nat Pitt. Buffer Zones brings together the works of thirteen artists in a physical commentary exploring the geo-political, social economic and cultural impacts of borders, inviting attendees to make a “precarious journey though barricades, borders and partitions”. At a time when Brexit dominates the headlines, themes of division, separation of community and physical space are put under the spotlight in this immersive show. Exhibiting artists include: Dr Sally Payen, collaborative duo Larry Achiampong & David Blandy, Edward Clydesdale Thomson, Yelena Popova, Manchester School of Art MA Fine Art student Hilary Jack, Gavin Wade, multi-media artist Jeremy Hutchison, artistic brothers Simon & Tom Bloor, James Bridle, Marco Godoy, and Ella Littwitz. Preview night on 11 Jul will feature a donations bar along with wood-fired pizza on offer.
The exhibition will be open 12-5pm daily, or by appointment.
