A multi-media art exhibition is now on Levenshulme’s Bankley Studios and Gallery. Entitled That Sinking Feeling, the show is inspired by ‘Oumuamua, the first known interstellar object to enter our solar system. The more scientists study this ‘visitor’, the weirder it appears: its colour, shape, and movement are all peculiar. Is it aliens, or just some rock that will pass us by with complete indifference to the problems on Earth? The installation was produced by ARM, a trio of creatives: Navid Asghari, a sound artist and film composer whose works have featured in BAFTA award winning BBC features; James Moss, an artist, performer, and exhibitions curator at the Portico Library; and David Rogerson, a London-based producer and former arts executive. Bankley Studios currently has over 30 artists in residence, working across a great range of disciplines. It’s just a short walk from Levenshulme train station. This installation is only available to view on Saturdays and Sundays until Sunday 12 May, so get in while you’ve still got time.
