British artist and filmmaker Ben Rivers presents a video installation that crosses between documentary and fable, shot in Morocco with a 16mm cinemascope. The films are are adapted from Paul Bowles’ savage short story, A Distant Episode, of a man travelling through the desert, and themes include people who separated from society, in marginal worlds. Originally shown at the Television Centre in London, Rivers has sourced material from old film sets to create viewing points within the gallery, creating an interactive video installation alongside his footage.
