Manchester School of Art invites you to explore its 2019 Degree Show, showcasing an eclectic collection of work from the school’s most recent cohort of student artists. This year’s ‘Everything Starts From Nothing’ identity was chosen by School of Art Alumni David Sedwick who graduated in graphic design in 2001 and has since founded Manchester’s StudioDBD, a company that has worked with local independents like Erst, Foil Co and Track Brewing. The theme takes inspiration from ‘first artistic endeavours’ and includes many of the artists’ childhood doodles and sketches within the final projects on display. The Degree Show runs from Sat 8 Jun- Wed 19 Jun and all are welcome, including schools and colleges who will have the chance to visit independently by booking online or attend engaged visits that invite students to Interrogate The Art School. These more in-depth sessions will encourage students to explore hidden stories, motifs and personal connections running throughout graduates’ work by collaborating with the students that created them. All you’ll need is a notepad and Manchester School of Art will provide the rest – including a creative toolkit that’s guaranteed to get your creative thoughts flowing. Advance booking is encouraged and can be done by visiting their website.
