Pharos is a new exhibition and performance bringing together the work of four artists who explore the relationship with the ‘self’. The launch event at their Salford HQ kicks off with a performance by Mary Hurrell known for her haunting choreographies. The exhibition runs for two weeks and features artist Jesse Darling, whose work has been on show at the Serpentine and MoMA Warsaw, sculptor Rebecca Ackroyd and artist Maria Gondek. Pharos runs as part of the Beacons programme, a series of exhibitions, talks, performance and workshops that look at our understanding of the body, the self, and our emotional experiences. If you want to know more about the artist’s practice, Mary Hurrell will be providing a talk the day before the main event at Islington Mill (Wed 13 Dec, 7pm).
