The Sabbath is simple in Manchester: up with the bells, put your good clothes on, off to church, a bit of roast beef with the family and then hot-stepping it down to Common to while away a few hours as French electro legend Ivan Smagghe plays records in a haze of Glaswegian whiskey. Smagghe, a guest as a part of unpronounceable single-malt Auchentoshan’s series of national pop-up events, will be bringing a box of his infamous cowbell-flecked acid and mutant disco to the Edge Street bar on Sunday 9 September, providing a very cool sit-down disco and sticking two fingers up at the ‘day of rest’. Support comes from Manchester’s favourite Yorkshire Pudding, Will Tramp.
