One of the local favourite spots on the high street, PostBox cafe has carved out a wonderful niche for itself in Chorlton as both one of the best places to pick up a coffee and somewhere to head for a decent meal, too. They also run a good sideline in events, but this one is pretty special event, even for the festival-happy people of the borough. Winner of the much-coveted Restaurant of the Year award at Manchester Food & Drink festival 2012, the Prestwich based eatery branches out for two consecutive Thursdays in August. Brilliant and relatively budget, an evening comes in at £35 per head – for that you get 4 courses and chocolates, with a specially curated set of wines available, too. Booking is unsurprisingly essential for this unexpected link-up of two regional institutions.
