The award-winning team behind Lily’s are bringing their much-loved vegetarian Indian deli concept to Ancoats, with doors opening on their new spot this Tuesday.

It follows the successful opening of their Chorlton spot venue year, which even in spite of lockdown proved a hit in the South Manchester suburb.

You’ll be able to find the new Lily’s deli on Henry Street, right on the corner of Cutting Room Square.

Set up by husband and wife duo Mr PG Sachdev and Mrs Lilawati Sachdev in 1972, the restaurant got its name from the loving nickname PG gave his wife. Lily would craft savouries by hand for the original Ashton deli, and their sons, Harish and Rasjesh, would eventually join the team.

Sadly, Lily passed before the restaurant opened—though her legacy is still very much felt and celebrated there on a daily basis.

Visitors can expect the same delicious, authentic Indian snacks from the new opening—chaats, bhel puris, deals and sweets all featuring on the menu.
