Contemporary dance theatre company balletLORENT present a new take on Rapunzel in April as they recreate the classic fairytale at The Lowry. Rich with colour and emotion, the production has been labelled as “the must-get tickets for kids with standards,” by The Times – though the creative super group behind it will no doubt have the adults lining up with as much anticipation. Reading as impressively as the ballet itself, the production brings together a host of leading collaborators, boasting Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy as its scenario writer, an original score by Doctor Who’s musical director Murray Gold and costumes by Game of Thrones costume designer, Michele Clapton. Complete with The Full Monty star Lesley Sharp as narrator, this must-see performance promises to be nothing short of spellbinding.
