Banff Mountain Film Festival returns to Stockport Plaza as part of a world tour in January 2018. Expect a programme packed with the most exhilarating adventure short film. Canada’s prestigious Banff Festival screens the best of mountain cinema, films following the world’s most intrepid explorers on their quests around the globe’s wildest corners. The festival tour begins in Edinburgh and makes its way through UK locations, including two evenings at Stockport’s Plaza cinema. Though the full film line-up is yet to be announced, highlights include The Frozen Road, which follows Yorkshire’s Ben Page on his journey across the Canadian Arctic with nothing but his bicycle for company. Also featured is the breathtaking cinematography of Into Twin Galaxies, a story of the northern most river ever paddled. A must-see event for thrill-seekers and outdoors enthusiasts alike.
