This Bank Holiday, Soup Kitchen’s club space plays host to one half of Optimo in the shape of legendary party starter JG (Jonnie) Wilkes with an exclusive, five-hour set alongside Mcr’s own Luke Unabomber (Electric Elephant). For a flavour of what to expect from Scotland’s finest, check out his roving, vinyl-only mix for Clash Magazine here. Wilkes founded Glasgow’s infamous Optimo parties with JD Twitch in 1997. They now DJ and produce around the world both separately and together, as well as hosting Optimo parties at the Sub Club in Glasgow. Famous for intricately built sets littered with wormholes, this is a rare chance to experience Wilkes skills over the course of a night.
