Bank Holiday Sunday: The Great British Shake Off

Manchester-based label Only Joking Records are hosting an all dayer this bank holiday Sunday with a line-up designed to reflect the event’s operating hours. The sunny garage drawl of Fruit Tones will satisfy the day-time revellers whereas Creeping Heat’s stomping darkness will suit the nocturnal punters who decide to arrive during the second half of the proceedings; and there’s plenty more artists in-between. Located on an estate opposite Strangeways prison, a hefty vat of vegan gumbo will provide sustenance and booze is to be served from a preposterously cheap and unusual underground bar. Oh and bring your swimwear too – there’s going to be a pool.
