Summer 2021 will officially be known in Manchester as the summer of natural wines, as we get to enjoy another artisan wine store in the heart of the city. This time in the form of a KAMPUS pop up.

KAMPUS is the newest, coolest neighbourhood in town, boasting some of the city’s most vibrant green spaces, and trendiest pop-ups to date. The KAMPUS gardens and Bungalow – a central feature of the new neighbourhood – are permanently open to the public, with the latter operating as a public space for pop-up events and community workshops.

The space recently hosted Common & Co’s Summer Beer Thing – a free festival of all things hoppy and bubbles – and a much-loved pop-up of natural wine bar Isca Wines. Now, Le Social will be taking over the Bungalow, from Thursday 5 August until the end of September.

Le Social started during lockdown, with wine professional Jérôme Boullier at the forefront providing a door-to-door wine delivery service – from which 100% of the profits were donated to charity. Le Social’s success grew rapidly, and it soon transformed into a specialist retailer and wholesaler of natural, organic wines. Since then, this independent has worked closely with General Stores, Common & Co, Manchester Fashion Movement, Butcher’s Quarter, and Feel Good Club.

Notorious for its incomparable collection of natural wines, Le Social will also be serving a range of beers, cocktails, softs and aperitifs along the canal – making this the perfect destination for a warm summer’s night. But it doesn’t stop there. Rumour has it, Jérôme has also got some collab events planned during the residency, including a boozy brunch with bagel enthusiasts and KAMPUS natives Bread Flower.

To commemorate the opening on Thursday 5 August, Le Social will welcome Manchester music collective CHIC, who will be playing a mix of disco, funk and house music all evening. The weekend after, Le Social celebrates its 1st birthday – with Burma-inspired street food vendors Rice Over Everything joining the line-up for a night of fab food and unreal booze.
