Home to a ridiculous number of producers, promoters, record labels and music obsessives, it’s weird that Manchester has failed to produce a quality music radio station, playing music that reflects its expertise. However, Beatwolf Radio appears to be just that. Also found on BBC 6 Music, Jo Good has a regular afternoon slot (with Vic McGlynn, weekdays, 4pm-6pm) while by night, explore alt beats with Radiohead remixer Illum Sphere (Sun, 8pm-10pm), the sounds of the near future with new music promoters Now Wave (Wed, 8pm-10pm) and the best in regional talent with Manchester Wire’s own Ben Blackburn (Tue, 10pm-midnight). The ‘listen again’ feature is set to be up and running from this week too.
