The Yorkshire Dales provide the backdrop for the first ever Beacons festival, a three day whirlwind of taste-making live acts and DJs accompanied by attractions for the whole family. After being rained off last year, the forecast looks good for this one with a line-up that includes flavours of the world from Toots and the Maytals to Wild Beasts and Roots Manuva. Diverse stylings include pop-up theatre, a fancy dress boutique and, woah, an immersive sound garden. Sup real ale supplied by Leeds’ oldest ale house at the Whitelocks tent and snaffle searing and spicy street food from the country’s finest purveyors in sunny company. For those who like dressing up, this year’s theme is, quite rightly, All the Fun of the Fair.
