This May, award-winning photographer and renowned hip hop theatre trailblazer Benji Reid returns to Manchester with five nights of his captivating MIF23 show Find Your Eyes at Aviva Studios, home of Factory International.

Blending photography, choreography and theatre to create profoundly affecting pictures in real time, the acclaimed choreo-photolist’s legendary live show reveals his bold, inventive methods in a wildly unique format, as he draws on Afro-futurist imagery and his life experiences as a Black man in modern Britain to peel back the curtain on the creative process in a personal context.

Hailed as ‘overwhelmingly moving’ in The Guardian’s five-star review, Find Your Eyes explores tragedy, triumph and vulnerability as part of a visual adventure that unfolds spontaneously in Reid’s living studio. At the nexus of conflict and beauty, the artist choreographs three talented dancers in a series of surreal artworks which form an emotional rollercoaster through some of the most poignant episodes of his life.

Following a successsful run of international dates, Reid’s searingly powerful ‘ode to reinvention’ takes over Manchester’s foremost culture and arts venue to reexamine the ways in which we make sense of the world through stories and art in an ambitious, intimate and wholly original theatre experience.
