June is ‘Bike Month MCR’ and over 600 pedal-powered events for all abilities will take place throughout the county. Let’s just hope the weather improves. Organised by Friends of the Earth and supported by local councils, the aim is to encourage people to take up cycling and also to help more experienced riders try something new. If your BMX is in need of TLC, you can head to Alexandra Park this Saturday (6 Jun)  for the Big Bike Revival, where it can be fixed for free. Braver riders may want to attend one of the many public taster sessions at the Velodrome. Towards the end of the month, there is the hugely popular Great Manchester Cycle, which takes riders on a long route (13, 26, or 52 miles) through the city, on roads closed to other vehicles. Many events require booking; please see the website below for details.
